Australia: Sydney's Bipolar weather

For all those who have lived in Australia for an extended period of time, I'm sure you've experienced Sydney's bipolar weather. The cycle usually goes like this , within the course of one hour. One minute it's sunshine and rainbows. THE NEXT pouring torrential rain. Another minute passes and we have a slight drizzle. The sky lights up and the clouds part. THEN COMES THE SUN-SHOWER.
School uniforms never dry in time, those jeans i wanted to wear are still damp and all that we've gained from today's weather is a fading rainbow.

Recommendation: Korean Drama MONSTAR

This drama is right in every way in terms of acting, filmography, plot and beautiful characterisation. It strives beyond the cliche teenage angst, by drawing upon the mystery and secrets of each teenage kid who learns to fall and getback up through music and friendship. It's both cutesy and light with a good balance between humour and the darker realties of finding our step and place in the world.

It's definitely a worthy piece to watch even if it just to soak up the warm and fuzzy goodness of a heartwarming non cliche plot.

Interesting Things About Korea: Kimchi

Kimchi. It's so famous that it has it's own museum in Korea. It's status in Korean cuisine has been elevated to be the representative food of Korea.

So. What is Kimchi?

Kimchi is a spicy pickled/ fermented cabbage that is often enjoyed as a side dish in Korean meals. There are over hundreds of varieties of kimchi that are purely based on the simple idea of pickling vegetables. Kimchi is an amazing side dish and can be made with almost anything from the more traditional Chinese cabbage to  radishes, anchovies and green onion. Kimchi is relatively easy to make, in the case that you have all the necessary ingredients. The most traditional type of kimchi is made from a blend of salt, garlic, Chinese cabbages, vinegar, pepper paste, fish sauce, spring onions and other spices. Originally Kimchi was eaten to provide a refreshing taste in the mouth after the heavy flavours of Korean cuisine. It helps digestion, prevents yeast infections and has been suggested by studies to prevent the growth of cancerous cells, as it is infused with large amounts of Vitamin A, B and C. Likewise it is often used in a variety of Korean dishes ranging from soups, to fried kimchi rice or simply as a side dish.

Concept Page: Perceptions and light

What if.... there was no sun in this world. Would the world be enveloped in perpetual darkness? would it really be as corrupt and misguided as painted in numerous movies and texts?

Who said that man and nature could not live in harmony with each other? This photo challenges this notion of harmony between humans and the natural world with a light ray that filters through the foliage and the subtle presence of the skyscraper in the background encapsulates this moment where the ideal world of ideological balance exists, even if it is for a mere second. it only really ever takes just a second or two to realise these alluring qualities in both humanity and nature.

Concept Page: Meaning behind the title.

What if..? That question in itself is hideous, disguising itself behind the superficial pretense of hope and optimism. But is it really? Questions that start with the two simple words "what if..?" are simply empty statements which illustrate the empty fantasies about what could have been. Life in itself is a complex concept in which the infamous question of what life's purpose is, still remains a mystery. That purpose can be as simple as to continue to live OR to simply live to maybe one day leave a mark.

What if..? What if.. i no longer existed tomorrow? What if ...i was rich? What if... i never find love?

Empty hopes and dreams which are poised in such beautifully crafted ideas. The mere comfort of being able to question what could have been provides comfort to those who seek to dwell on the past and have doubts about the future.

To those who constantly ponder what if... is it really worth the mounds of regret that pile up every time that phrase is revisited? One day, when time is finally running short, the regret of having spent time on such a phrase, will be the true regret that hits you full force like a slap across the face.
