Interesting Things About Korea: Namsan Tower

Namsan Tower also known as N Seoul Tower is located in the capital city of South Korea, Seoul. It bears resemblance to other famous towers around the world such as the Sydney Center-point tower and the Shanghai Oriental Pearl Tower.  It is built on Mount Namsan, hence the name, and is known for its breathtaking views over the city. It serves as the host for performances, movies, exhibitions as well as a whole variety of restaurants and snackbars. Mmmm food! 

Personally i'm a scardy cat and am very scared of heights, but for those of you who enjoy a thrilling ride, there are also cable car services to take you to the tower or you can WALK! There are a few interesting facilities and designs such as the sky restrooms, which allow you to see the view while in the restroom. There are also multiple souvenir shops and photo-zones. 

Previously mentioned in a post, another famous attraction is the love locks.It's actually an attraction that's been featured in alot of variety shows and dramas in Korea. It's an attraction made for couples who go to place a lock together, to safeguard their love. Its quite cute actually. BTW Teddy Bear Museum is there.

Interesting things about Korea:Teddy Bear Museum (Korea)

The Teddy Bear Museum is located in Jeju island or in Seoul Tower in South Korea. It consists of an impressive collection of teddy bears from around the world. The museum exhibits a whole host of different concepts of teddy bears from teddy bears dressed in traditional Korean Hanbok to popular teddy bears of different Eras, antique teddy bears worth more than you can imagine , and famous scenes or people depicted in teddy bear form such as the Mona Lisa teddy bear.

*Fun Fact: IF you visit Namsan Tower (Seoul Tower) there is a place where you can place a lock and is a popular place for a date, as the locks represent everlasting and unbroken love. Its quite lovely if you ask me. Even if your single go and put one for good luck :D

Drama: Sirius

Synopsis: "Sirius" revolves around Identical twin brothers Eun-Chang and Shin-Woo (both played by Seo Jun-Young). When they were teens, Eun-Chang was a bright and popular kid, but went to jail because of Shin-Woo. Since then, his life has changed completely. Meanwhile, Shin-Woo always felt inferior to his brother and his feelings for his brother became more complicated after his brother was imprisoned.

Shin-Woo is now the chief detective of a police investigation team. He works mainly with  drug investigations. Eun-Chang now works as an errand man at a hostess bar. A conspiracy is implemented by Ko Seok-Min (Ryu Seung-Soo) and the twin brothers change positions. Eun-Chang now acts as Shin-Woo in the police department. Shin-Woo is shocked that his brother stole his identity and begins to take actions to get his identity back. Meanwhile, Ko Seok-Min proposes a deal with Eun-Chang.

Although its a mini drama with four episodes. Man is it good! Its got a good balance of light and dark with a new and interesting plot. Goign to keep my eye on this drama. Also Seo Joon Yeong :D

Excerpt from something i'm writing.

In this winter wonderland, the ice neither sparkles nor shines, because the name “wonderland” would be too nice a word to describe the situation. The unrelenting ice overpowers everything, covering even the slightest patch with its frosty glaze. The once carefree swing has been made unmovable by the overbearing power of the ice which has locked it to the ground. The ice is like a timekeeper, freezing everything in its path, unable to proceed, while also slowing down the process of aging. The swing, trapped in such a state, can no longer sway freely with the wind, yet it stands motionless, waiting. Taking away a swings freedom of motion, is like taking away the ability to breathe from the living, as the inability to move defeats the sole purpose of its existence.

The ice forms intricate and interesting patterns on the beams of wood, as if mocking the swing, flaunting its natural charm and skill. The raw ice bites into the wood, laughing at the swings inability to defend itself from the consequences of winter. Stripped of its ability to retaliate it just silently waits for the passing of the winter months, waiting for the time where it may return to its former glory.

Interesting Things about Korea: Nami Island (Winter)

Two words. Cold and Magical. 

Nami Island is a small island in Chunchoen, South Korea, and is well known for its crescent shaped formation. During the winter, the trees are lined with icicles, while the snow crunches loudly beneath your feet. Kinda like popcorn. the whole place has a magical atmosphere to it, almost like an ideal Winter Wonderland, except for the fact that you feel like your cheeks are falling off from frostbite. 

As a dedicated fan of Disney since i was young i realised that this was close to my imagination of a Disney setting. Maybe even like the forest in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It was an inspirational place due to the overwhelming scenery and i'm sure i felt a tinge of magic circulate in the air as i walked by trees with squirells running up and down the trunks. 

I Miss You Episode 21 Thoughts

REALLY DRAMA! REALLY!

I don’t know about you but to me, the ending was a bit of a disappointment, which seemed a bit rushed and was just a ditch effort by the producers to tie up loose ends and make everyone feel warm and fuzzy without really much substance. The show didn't really have a good balance of heavy and light moments, as i felt that it was just full force heavy , which after the initial shock and amazement at the return of Park Yoo Chun  )))) kinda repulsed me.

The plot overall wavered in the middle losing my interest when it became repetitive with little forward movement in the story but overall it was worth it to see the 1 litre of tears that each actor shared on set especially those of Yoo Seung Ho and Yoo Chun. Man did they grow as actors.

On to the ending.

Good points:

1. It was nice to see Su Yeon’s mother finally confront Jung Woo’s Dad. Like finally someone can get angry at him full on with out holding back cause if it was me i would have slapped him by now!

2. Jung Woo’s stepmother finally gets a somewhat peaceful lifestyle and happy ending.

3. Jung Woo and Su Yeon get a very forced but happy ending.

So classy yet so evil. 

Bad Points:

1. If you were going to make Harry mental after all that then you should have made it more heart warmingly beautiful. Now its just oh hey he suddenly doesn't remember anything so everything’s solved and let’s all be happy and live in Winter Wonderland. As a viewer i would have found it more satisfying if Harry had been sane and found forgiveness. Or maybe even death would have been more memorable, now it just seems like it was a forced happy ending on Harry’s end.

2. What about other people like Harry’s minion. Remember the other Harry i was actually interested in him! 

3. SO what exactly happens to Jung Woo and his father. NOTHING? so just some starring and that’s it. Very open ended indeed. I don’t understand why drama writers make things open ended on the last episode. It”s not liek you’ll tell us later unless your planing to make a SEQUEL. We watch so that we can find out this stuff eventually not think for ourselves!

4. All the side characters were rather neglected as well like Ah Reum, Wifey detective and Yoon Joo. Felt like the writers just went OK Jung Woo and Su Yoon have a happy ending, everyone else just screw yourselves over with what ever you were doing to begin with. What were the point of those characters then!

Rant Over! However i do commend teh actors acting especially since there were tears every episode and i would like to mention jsut how hot Yoo Chun and Seung Ho are. Sadly he’s going off to the army but as fan I will wait.

This is a happy ending!
